Description
Every July, the Umbrian town of Perugia becomes a city-wide stage, blending music, history, culture, food and wine to create the Umbria Jazz Festival. Inspired by this event and the joy of summer in Italy, Benedetto is hosting a night of live jazz music with Umbrian food and wine on Sunday, July 22 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
“As a musician myself, I find a strong connection between music and food when enjoyed together. Warm summer nights provide the perfect backdrop for exploring Umbrian food and wine and live jazz in the restaurant perfectly complements the current music series at the hotel,” Chef/owner Michael Pagliarini said.
The band, The Flying Dutchmen, will play jazz and funk, riffing on standards like Gershwin’s “Summertime” throughout the night while the team at Benedetto features special Umbrian dishes like Saffron Capunti with braised lamb shoulder, local greens and pecorino as well as wines from hyperlocal producers in the region like 2016 Bussoletti “Grechetto Colle Ozio”and 2014 La Segreta “Pottarello” Sangiovese, Colorino, Malvasia Nera.
Reservations can be made online or by calling (617) 661-5050. Follow Benedetto on Facebook @BenedettoCambridge or Instagram @BenedettoCambridge.
