Massachusetts Data Protection Law: Are You Prepared?
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has issued a new regulation that requires all people who own, license, store or maintain personal information about a resident of the Commonwealth to meet specific security standards. This regulation goes into effect in March 1, 2010. The size of your business does not matter; the number of customers you process is irrelevant. This impacts nearly every business in Massachusetts as well as businesses outside of the state who collect information on Massachusetts residents.
This session will include:
• Discussion of the law and an overview of the rigorous requirements that will be required by March 1
• Practical suggestions on how best to comply with the law
• Discussion of actual case studies involving various small businesses that have achieved compliance
• Question and answer period where you can address your unique concerns and challenges
Learn from the experts. Get the general, legal and IT facts from panelists Dean Gabbert of CMIT Solutions and John Moynihan, President of Minuteman Governance, Inc., a consultancy that provides information security services throughout the public and private sectors.
To assist you in scheduling, we offer this program on three separate dates -- same important information, three dates from which to choose. This session will also be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 and Tuesday, February 23, 2010.
