CCC welcomes new Office Manager
Hello everyone! My name is Liz and I am very pleased to have this opportunity to join the staff here at the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, as the Office Manager. I am very much looking forward to not only learning more about the local community and the Chamber, but also meeting all of you at our myriad events and gatherings held throughout the year.
To tell you a little about myself: I was born and raised in the historic and picturesque town of Amherst, NH. At a very young age, I became interested in art and animal care, working many hours on my painting, drawing and animal education.
Upon reaching the age of 21, I had the opportunity to move to Seattle, WA. With much anticipation, I decided to head west to start a new chapter of my life. Once in Seattle, my eyes were opened to many new landscapes, ideas and concepts.
I worked for many years in animal medicine as a veterinary technician and studied natural medicine on the side—pushing the artist in me to the back burner, temporarily. Eventually, however, the artist in me came to the surface and I became involved in a career of sculpting.
I happily worked as a lead sculptor/designer for a very successful gaming/publishing company in Seattle, but in my third year of sculpting, tragedy struck and I lost the vision in my right eye. This event sent me down a new path, where I became involved with an Environmental Nonprofit Education Agency, helping to educate people about environmental protection and sustainability. I found this to be a very rewarding opportunity, as people everywhere were very supportive of our goals and vision and assisted us in our many ongoing projects and classes across the US.
Living on the west coast was an amazing experience for me, but as I grew older I became abundantly aware of how homesick I was feeling and knew that it was time to come home. As Boston is Seattle’s “sister city,” I knew this was the perfect place for me to call home.
My family and loved ones are truly happy to have me back home on the east coast, and I must add, that I couldn’t be happier myself! Feel free to contact me anytime if you should have questions or just want to introduce yourself. I look forward to speaking with you all.
