CCC welcomes new Board leadership
The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that William Sage of Sage Hotel Corporation has begun a two-year term as Chair of the Board of Directors. Bill has been involved in the Chamber for almost twenty years, having served a previous board term back in the early 90s. One of his former hotel properties, the Howard Johnson/Radisson Hotel on Memorial Drive, served as host to many CCC events and meetings over the years. Bill has been actively engaged and interested in the progress of Cambridge public schools and the responsibility of the Chamber to provide a resource and policy link to the businesses we serve.

Bill succeeds Michael O’Connell of Mt. Auburn Hospital, who has ended his two-year term. “Michael was a tremendous chairman. He supported the staff and our initiatives showing the utmost confidence. He provided guidance and direction and understood the hard work and dedication put forth by the Chamber staff,” said CCC CEO Kelly Thompson Clark.

The board also welcomes five new directors. Joining the board in January were Alex Attia, GM for the Charles Hotel; Skip Hartwell, VP Corporate Services for Akamai Technologies; Thomas J. Lucey, Associate Director of Community Relations at Harvard University; and Ellen McLaughlin, Executive Director for Tutoring Plus of Cambridge. In March, the board will also be joined by Joseph T. Maguire, Jr, VP Asset Services for
Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc.

We also appreciate the service of our members who have completed their terms of service on the Board of Directors: Mary Ann Jarvis, Harvard University (retired); Sandra Lagrega, Treasurer of WT Phelan Insurance; Joyce Trotman, Director of the Hildebrand Family Self-help Center, Inc.; and Robert M. Wilson, CEO of Cambridge Savings Bank.  All of these individuals’ dedication to the Chamber and the community is much admired.
