November 23 GAC Update
The Council met on Monday and tabled by Charter Right most of the agenda. The Council Ordinance Committee met on Tuesday to discuss proposed changes to the Cambridge Municipal Code on Refuse and Litter and to discuss the Concord-Alewife Rezoning petition.
The Common wealth of Massachusetts has issued a Request for Proposals for 60,000 square feet of office space for use by the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
November is Hire A Veteran Month in Massachusetts
Throughout November, Massachusetts’ One-Stop Career Centers will hold special workshops and information sessions to help veterans find jobs. This campaign is sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Workforce Development and the Department of Veterans’ Services in partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor. Employers are being encouraged hire veterans and to sign up to be acknowledged as a “Veterans Friendly Employer” by contacting the Department of Veteran’s Services at 617-210-5970 or go to mass.gov/veterans. November 23 City Council Meeting
No significant actions were taken this meeting as most of the City Managers agenda and the Policy Orders submitted by Councillors were tabled by Charter Right. These matters can be considered at the next meeting scheduled for December 5, 2005.
