September 6, 2006 GAC Update
The big news this week is that the School Committee voted to extend Superintendent Thomas Fowler-Finn’s contract to 2008. The Council meets Monday night.
The next meeting of the GAC will be on September 26. This will be a working meeting to discuss members’ ideas for the Committee for the next couple of years. I have provided a draft agenda below.
The Chamber has scheduled an Executive Speaker luncheon on October 24. Our guest will be Robert Culver, President and CEO of MassDevelopment. A regular GAC meeting will be held on November 28.

The GAC will meet on Tuesday September 26, 2006 at noon in the Chamber Board Room. The topic will be a discussion among those GAC members about the direction of this committee for the next couple of years. A draft agenda is provided below:

Robert Culver Addresses October GAC/Executive Speaker Luncheon
MassDevelopment President and CEO Robert Culver will discuss MassDevelopment’s efforts to spur economic growth in the Commonwealth, MassDevelopment’s work in Cambridge, and the latest on the new Bristol-Myers Squibb pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and other developments at Devens. The Luncheon will be held on Tuesday October 24, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge, 575 Memorial Drive, Cambridge.
