Proposed Green Building Requirements Amendments to Zoning Ordinance

The Planning Board has posted a Notice of Public Hearing for a proposal to amend the Zoning Ordinance by adding a Section 11.20 Green Building Requirements. The hearing is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday September 4, 2007 at the City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway, Second Floor Meeting Room. A copy of the proposed amendment is attached.

The proposed amendment would affect development proposals over 25,000 square feet and would require that new or substantially rehabilitated buildings be designed in conformance to the United States Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy Efficient Design (LEED) rating system. The Cambridge City Council has scheduled an Ordinance Committee hearing on this amendment for Wednesday September 19 at 5:00 p.m.
