February 22, 2006 GAC Update

No City Council meeting this week, the Council next meets in regular session on Monday February 27.

Remember to sign-up by 5:00 p.m. Friday for next Tuesday’s GAC meeting and luncheon with Mayor Kenneth E. Reeves.  I already have 25 signed-up so there is limited room left.  First come first served.

Also please register for the March GAC/Women in Business Executive Speaker Luncheon with Lesley University President Margaret McKenna.  President McKenna is going to be speaking on Lesley University’s role in the Cambridge community, the university’s future and its growth in Porter Square.  This talk will be of interest to GAC members interested in the physical development of the area between Harvard and Porter Square and those interested in our Public Schools as Lesley has been along-time partner with the Cambridge School department.  Register at http://www.cambridgechamber.org/chamber/viewevent.html?id=146.

The Council’s Government Operations and Rules Committee will conduct a public meeting tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the Sullivan Chamber, City hall to receive public testimony relative to the City Manager's performance and evaluation.

For a listing of public meetings, visit the Public Meetings link or the Public Meeting Notices area of the City of Cambridge Web site.
